Play video games maybe can help these people relax and bring som smile on their faces when they play and find a way to release pressures. So I think, to these people that's the attraction of video games.
Another reason to play video games is just for fun. Online games are very popular because players can have conversation and they also have to cooperate with each other to win the game. Some people say they can learn how to overcome the hindrances and learn about team work from video games. It is no doubt, but spend too much time to play video games probably is not a good thing. You may be addicted in it, and can't concentrate on your work or school. So I think although video games has a lot of attraction to play, we still have to balance it between work and study. That's more useful to let you relax than addicted in it.

It is certainly possible to spend too much time playing video games and miss out on life, but this is true of most hobbies. I guess the trick is learning how to moderate betweed work and leisure.
